Below you will find great gift ideas for that special little girl this holiday time.

For girls up to nine in age the make your own jewelry kits are a hot item as are the edible jewelry kits. The fashion design studios for dolls and pets are also a number one on the wish list this year. Games that link to their game systems or TV and are interactive like dancing or designing are items all girls are interested in.

Arts of any kind as in painting sets, sketching and sewing are great things to wrap up for them. The young adult guys like anything that has music to do with it instruments, handheld games you name it they want it. You can always add in some of their favorite style books and movies for an extra surprise.

You Can Enjoy Making And Eating A Turtle Cheesecake In Your House

without comments

The turtle cheesecake is a unique type of dessert that is a mix of pecans, caramel candies and chocolate. It is one of the most unique desserts you can make at home.

While you’re at it, you may want to make two.  Enjoy one yourself and freeze the other as a gift.  Cheesecake is a great gift idea.

To start with making a turtle cheesecake you will need to get a cup of pecans prepared. The pecans should be chopped up properly to where they will be able to fill up the cup. These pecans will need to be placed in an oven set to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for six minutes. After this is done you will need to melt some unsalted butter. Be sure to use six tablespoons of this butter when preparing your turtle cheesecake.

Next you will need two cups of crushed vanilla wafers. These wafers should then be mixed in with your melted butter and placed into a nine inch round springform pan. After this the pan is placed on a cookie sheet and heated for ten minutes in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then cool it afterwards.

For the caramel flavor you will need to gather fourteen ounces of caramel candies and melt them. You will need to melt the caramel candies in five ounces of evaporated milk. For this part you will need five ounces of this milk. When this is finished you can stir the mixture and pour it on top of your newly formed crust. The pecans you handled during the first part of this process will then be added.

The next parts of preparation involve getting cream cheese and chocolate chips prepared. Twenty-four ounces of cream cheese should be added to the recipe. After this you will need to use a half cup of white sugar along with three half teaspoons of vanilla extract.

Two eggs should then be added. The entire mixture should be mixed up to where it is smooth. You will need to melt some chocolate chips next. Be sure to gather enough for half a cup to mix into your recipe.

The entire mixture will need to be poured into the pan and baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for forty minutes. After this you will need to get your cheesecake to cool in a refrigerator for a day.  Be sure to invite friends to join you in the eating pleasure!

Give The Present Of A Fruit Basket!

without comments

A fruit basket will brighten the day of someone in your life. Whether they are recovering from an illness or simply in need of a “pick-me-up,” they will really enjoy it!

Fruit baskets can be personalized for the special person that you are giving it to. They are usually filled with an array of fruits which can be picked specifically for the recipient or filled with a random assortment of fruit. They are usually made with ribbons and bows that can also be customized.

If you know the type of fruit that someone loves, why not fill their basket with that!  Whether it is strawberries and kiwi or oranges and apples, they are sure to love it.  Chose ribbons and bows of their favorite colors or decorate it with small objects that  represent the things that they love in life. Personalization is easy if you know what  they like!

While other people are receiving the normal gift of flowers, you can give the gift of  a fruit giftbasket and really surprise them! Flowers are nice to look at but they are  not as nice as a fruit basket. The fruit basket is an original gift.

Fruit will serve several purposes when it is given to a person that is recovering from  an illness. The fruit in the basket are packed full of vitamins that is sure to get  them on the road to feeling better much sooner.

As a gift to an office coworker, the fruit basket can be shared by many people. They can open the fruit basket and share it among their peers or take it home and share it with their family. They could also leave it at their desk and have a healthy snack just waiting on them whenever the need for one comes up.

Getting a gift for a male boss can be a very tricky thing to do. If you don’t know for  sure what sports team he routes for or what he collects or likes a lot, what do you  get him? A fruit basket is a great idea! He is sure to like it and will appreciate it  a lot more than a nice flower arrangement.

The fruit basket is a very versatile gift and will be appreciated and enjoyed by anyone who receives one. When you are considering gifts for that special someone or for that person that you do not know so well, consider the fruit basket. A fruit basket designed particularly for someone is a very unique gift or just simply make it a collaboration of fruit. Either way, it is sure to be enjoyed!

Three Gift Ideas for Hard Times

without comments

Many of us are faced with a time in which some of our close friends and family are enduring tough economic times. We want to help, but we also don’t want to embarass them by extending unwanted charity. Especially in those types of cases, we want to be sure that the gifts we give them for special occasions are put to good use, needed and enjoyed. I have a few suggestions:

A beautiful fruit basket is healthy, beautiful, delicious and always enjoyed. If you live near your gift recipient, you can find a lovely basket or other attractive container and fill it with fruit that is in season in your region of the country, obtained at a farmers market, and fill it out with a few exotic fruits picked up at your local super market. If your loved one is farther away, you can arrange for any of a large range of beautiful fruit gift baskets to be delivered to the recipient’s home. It will help them to reduce their grocery bill on their next trip to the super market.

A unique meal is another way to remember a special occasion. One alternative might be to take the friend to a special restaurant. If price is no object to you, be sure to suggest some of the pricier entrees on the menu, so that your guests know that they should not worry about ordering whatever they prefer. For example, you could say something like, “The crab legs are perfect here, but, if you don’t like seafood, try the filet mignon.” If they live too far away for that, you can actually find delicious, gourmet, chef-prepared meals online that arrive frozen and can be heated in almost no time. (I actually keep my freezer stocked with these.) Or you might send a gift certificate to a special place in their town.

A final recommendation is a scrumptious dessert. Now, lets face it, nobody should indluge in too many desserts, but on a birthday, anniversary or holiday, everyone deserves a chance to feel a little pampered. Bake cookies, if that is a skill of yours, and hand deliver or have them delivered. For something a little more special consider giving them a delicious pie or a New York cheesecake. Whether you make it yourself or have others do the work for you doesn’t matter. It will be appreciated and definitely enjoyed either way.

You’ll notice a common feature in these suggestions. They all involve food. Someone who is going through a difficult time may not want to accept charity, but nobody can reject a genuinely special gift. If it reduces the grocery bill by a bit, so much the better.

Carefully Pair the Person With the Gift

Getting in Shape: Some Thoughts for Giving in Shape

without comments

We all know someone who when you pass by the vitamin store in the mall, we’re not surprised to see them browsing the shelves.  They are the health conscious one in the neighborhood, the one we all unsuccessfully aspire to be.    For the third year in a row, they’ve made it their new year’s resolution to lose those holiday pounds, but this time they’re actually going to go through with it.    When it comes time for their birthday or any gift giving occasion, you know you have to find something that fits their lifestyle, whether that lifestyle is a reality yet or still in the aspirational stage. But, at least you have a good starting point.  You can take this information and turn it into a gift that will inspire them.

A unique gift idea might be to get them a trial membership to a health or athletic club.  They’ll be among others with the same goals, and plenty of equipment to help them take on their challenges.  Some of the equipment can be intimidating or tricky looking, and the staff is always willing to demonstrate how to work them.  Many health clubs will also offer trainers to guide customers in a work out regime that best suits them.  Getting a friend a membership is a great way to motivate someone to get out of the house and get started on shedding the pounds.  Even if your friend already has a membership to such a club, you can still give them a free month, or even a gift certificate to be used at the club for additional services or products.

If a gift of a club membership is a bit more than you planned to spend, there are other gifts that can provide the same message of support.  Visit your local sporting goods shop to find inspiration for other appropriate gifts.  Health stores can give you plenty of gift ideas, too.  You might find a video guide on a popular exercise routine or an inspirational book.

Just because they want to lose weight doesn’t mean they can’t eat.  Many sports shops will have cook books for the health conscious.  These books are a great idea for those who are fine when it comes to working out, but have trouble controlling their diet.  In the same locations, you can also find useful gadgets such as pedometers that can be worn throughout the day to encourage walking instead of riding or the stairs instead of the elevator.

If you’re looking for a more personal gift, one of the best healthy gift ideas you can get is a fruit basket. A fruit gift basket is a great gift idea for anyone who is health conscious and watching their weight.  We’ve been learning it since grade school when we first saw the food pyramid.  Fruit is just plain healthy; it provides essential vitamins and energy not to mention is cholesterol-free.  There’s no question that a fruit basket would be loved by your health conscious friend.  There are all sorts of fruit baskets from which to choose, one of which will fit your budget as well as delighting your health-conscious friend.  One exception to keep in mind, however, often people who are just beginning a low carb diet are not permitted fruit.

So whether they’re just starting into fitness or have been exercising for years, make sure your gift is supportive of their choice to get healthy or stay healthy.

Choosing Among Gift Basket Options

without comments

Gift baskets are out of date!  Or is it that they’re just plain boring?  Actually, I hope the correct response is neither.  You see, I make my living by selling gift baskets (among other food gifts).  While I agree that it’s not quite the same as being a test pilot or a neurosurgeon, it’s an honest way to pay for tuition for my grandson.  Or at least it would be a good way to do so if more of you bought my products.

I can read your mind: “I’ll bet he never has a problem deciding what to give during the holidays; year in and year out everybody on his list gets stuck with another gift basket.”  How dare you think about me in that way!  In fact, I face the same dilemmas that you face during any gift giving, decision making crisis.

I don’t give only baskets of joy to my loved ones.  Even if I did just give gift baskets to everyone, my choice would be only marginally easier than yours.  At my store, we offer scores of fruit baskets, gourmet meals, wine gift baskets and far more than that, even.  (I know what you’re thinking right now, “Please, oh please, just tell me where this wonderful paradise is located so that I can go there to buy your most expensive offerings for everyone on my gift list!”  Please be patient.)

Before you coerce me into giving away my store location, I want to share my own decision making strategy with you.

My first step is to decide on the appropriate category of gift from the many choices.  If Uncle Milton really has managed to eliminate his drinking problem after a decade of trying, then the wine gift baskets are out of the running.  Instead, I think I’ll send him an assortment of gourmet cheeses and a fresh fruit basket.

Aunt Millie, on the other hand, is a great wine sipper.  Frankly, I don’t know if she really enjoys the wine, but she sure enjoys talking about it.  She thrills to have a new member of her audience so that she can explain what makes a good vintage year, the varieties of grapes that are used in her favorite blends and, especially, how much she paid for each bottle (as well as how much she paid for the carpeting you just ruined by spilling your glass).  I’ll give her one of my better wine gift baskets, but I refuse to give her the best stuff.  Sure, I get it wholesale, but I still have to pay for it!  (I’m also not going to pay for the carpet cleaning; not after what that cat of hers did to my new coat.)

My nephew, Alfred, recently married his long time girlfriend.  To tell you the truth, even I agree that it’s about time.  Alfred spent the last eight years trying to decide if she was worth the cost of a diamond ring.  (I suspect that he eventually settled on crystal, which, considering Alfred, would be thought of as generous.)  What he wants is a check.  There’s no way that I’m satisfying that desire.  His wife wouldn’t get a dime of it.  Instead, they’re getting a meal of live lobsters and the trimmings from me.  Actually two, of course.  I figure it’s the only way to get that cheap guy’s new bride out of the kitchen for an evening.

My second step, after choosing a category is to select a price range that I’m willing to spend on these people.  Then my wife makes me double that amount.

My perfect grandson isn’t getting a food gift.  I’m getting him the latest cell phone system, complete with an unlimited calling plan.  I would get him a sports car if only you would buy a lot more gift baskets!

Cyberspace Is Full Of Interesting Gift Ideas

without comments

I love to give nice presents.  I just don’t like the part where I have to think of exactly which present to give.  I agonize over every choice of present.  However, I have shortened my decision time a bit, now.  You see, I turn first to the Internet.  I don’t mean just to buy the present, though.  I use online research to help me think of presents long before I have to make the final decision about where to buy it.

First, a little confession:  I almost always give gift that I would actually like to receive.  No, I don’t actually have them monogramed with my initials.  I don’t carry it quite that far.

Okay, here’s an example.  I cherish food.  It’s not that I actually eat very much, it’s just that I love truly good food.  Therefore, by extension, I love to get food gift ideas.  Not just ordinary food, of course.  I never give someone a loaf of bread for a holiday, although maybe a truly great French bread wouldn’t be a bad idea, now that I think about it.  But I like to give food that is delicious and also demonstrate’s that I have considered my loved one’s tastes.  Imported (or even fine domestic) cheese, for example, is one of my favorite categories.

I’m a man, so no matter what my age (don’t ask!), I still love toys.  All men are actually just little boys who grew taller…and maybe wider.  However, given my age, my taste in toys has evolved from the toy truck to electronic gadgets.  I am constantly looking for new playthings for myself, as well as electronic gift ideas for other men.

Now, this may surprise you, but I also like jewelry gifts, so I’m always on the lookout for unique jewelry gifts.  Personally, I love watches, but my favorites are the kind that most women probably wouldn’t wear.  Instead I look to items like bracelets.  I especially like charm bracelets, since one bracelet can take care of gift ideas for several years as I add nice charms for various occasions.  I know that’s probably cheating, but, as I said:  I’m a man!

I guess one of the reasons that I like to search online for reviews and recommendations for things that I would enjoy receiving or that I admire from afar is that I can understand what the articles are about.  For example, I would never try to buy someone a dress, because I have no understanding of what the terminology means.  I know the difference between cotton and polyester, but that is about as far as my knowledge will take me.  On the other hand, show me a diamond and I can appreciate its luster; tell me what a game system does and I’ll know whether it is enjoyable and state-of the art.  Best of all, tell me about a rare Wisconsin cheese, and I will completely understand the description.  I stick to what I know.

Fruit Giftbaskets – The Best Gift!

without comments

For many years, the most popular gift to give to a loved one, friend or associate was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The flowers would be admired on a desk top or counter for a few days and then the petals begin to wither. Eventually the flowers are thrown away. A gift that will give more pleasure and will serve a greater purpose is a fruit basket.

Another really great option for giving a gift is the fruit gift basket. These baskets are a unique way to show someone that you care. They are easily personalized with fruits that are favorites for the recipient of the basket as well as their family members and friends. If you are aware that the person really likes a particular type of fruit, the basket can be made of those things with ease.

Adding things to the basket that will make it more personal is also a really great idea. Strings of ribbon or fabric that are in their favorite colors can make the fruit basket that much more appealing. Why not add a happy birthday ribbon or a congratulations ribbon and make it that much more meaningful?

To get a fruit basket as a gift is an exciting moment. They will surely tell everyone that they know about the gift and will want to show it to anyone that is close. If the person that received the fruit basket is in a sharing mood, they may even open it up and offer it to their coworkers or family. That way everyone in the building could get a piece of the happiness.

Have you ever spent hours wandering around stores looking for the perfect gift for someone that you just really don’t know that well? Do you get them a nice bottle of wine? Do you get them an article of clothing? Well the best answer would be to get them a fruit basket.

If you take a risk and purchase them a bottle of wine or clothing or something along those lines, you may find that they do not drink wine and that you have bought the wrong size. That can be really embarrassing, especially if you have purchased the gift as a gift from a large group of people.

Giving a beautiful fruit basket is an unexpected surprise. If you are looking to
surprise someone and want to give them a gift to remember, a fruit basket will be a great choice. In most cases a fruit basket will be less expensive than a flower arrangement and can be made much more personal as well. Give them a great fruit basket. They will love it!
