Making Any Present (Even Horrible Ones) Work for You!
Think of all the junk you’ve received (and given). Don’t you wish there was a better way? I will show you a better way. In my opinion the best gifts to give anyone are coffee gift baskets.
Unfortunately, we don’t always receive something as cool as Gift Baskets. I will give you some ideas of what to do with those unwanted gifts.
Everyone has been given something that is simply horrible. You can give it to charity, or post it on www.freecycle.com where everything donated is free to users. You may hide the horrible gift in a box where you will hopefully never run into it again. Whatever you do please do not dispose of the item.
Then, there is re-gifting, a risky and often unpleasant practice. Re-gifting is not usually a acceptable custom. Especially if the person that gave you the gift finds out. There are numerous ways to make use of your gift, without the awkward and deliberate re-wrapping and passing along.
1. Make a “Gift Box.” Make sure that you put a post-it note on the item, and secure it with tape telling whom the item is from.
2. Place gifts that are of no use to you in the treasure chest.
3. Over time, group similar items together i.e. games, movies, an outfit, etc.
4. To give a “re-gifted” treasure, make sure you have at least 3 similar items. For example favorite films. Take the films, wrap them individually, and put them in a large popcorn bowl. Include candies, chocolate, or whatever else you want to make the gift go further. If you are giving the films to an adult or family, put in a homemade gift certificate for one night of free babysitting (if they have kids). Regifting, if done properly, can be personal and inexpensive. Make sure that you are not giving the gift back to the person that gave it to you.
With a bit of experience and personalization regifting can be acceptable and fun (as long as you don’t get caught!)
We all want to make our gift giving a little easier, so might I suggest you head on over to Nectar of Life’s Coffee Gift Baskets page and have a look around? They have plenty of them at Nectar of Life Coffee.
