Small town brawl!

without comments

It was a quite day in a small Bar in upstate New York . The girl working behind the bar was young, she had just turned 21 and had only been bar tending a few weeks, this was her first time working alone. Everything was going fine with only two of the regulars in the back shooting pool it was nothing she could not handle she thought to herself.

Then the front door opened and in walked ten of the biggest men she had ever seen. They talked loudly and as they walked over to the far side of the bar, She got a look at the back of their jackets. She could easily see that the markings on them where all the same. The men ordered pitchers of beer and their talking only got louder as they drank more and talked about things she did not understand. Then the men went quite as the front door opened and in walked seven more large men, at first she thought these seven men where with the first Ten as they looked and dressed similar but as she looked at the markings on the backs of these new comers Jackets she could tell while they where similar the markings where different, By the way the two groups where looking at each other she guessed the difference must mean a lot to them.

The Seven men sat up toward the front of the bar and also ordered pitchers of beer. The young girl did her best to make sure both groups where kept happy, but it was just a matter of time and Beer! When one of the men from the first group called out to her, “Hey Honey don’t worry about those guys, there losers! Come over here and hang with some real men.” That was all it took, the fuse was lit. “Who you calling losers pal we are good enough to beat you any day of the week!” Yelled back a guy from the second group. “You may think your as good as us but you never will be!” Yelled back a man from the first group.

Then in what was a blur to our young barmaid a fight broke out between the two groups it was loud and she could hear glass and wood breaking all around her as the men cursed and screamed at each other. This young Girl was scared and she feared for her life.

Her fear abated a little when in the distance she heard sirens. The police are coming, she thought to herself as she hid behind the bar. The police arrived in force and they stormed in arresting the men and taking them away. When things got quite and all the men where taken away the young girl looked around the small bar. So much damage she thought to herself, She looked at one of the officers and asked how did you know to come here. We got a call that these two groups where both heading to this bar and we just knew, it happens all the time with these type of guys!!!

Epilogue: The next morning when the young barmaid awoke she walked down stairs to the kitchen where her father was reading the morning paper. Does it say anything about the fight in the bar yesterday she asked her father? Yes he said as he pointed to a small article in the back of the paper “Yankees and Mets fans Brawl it out in small town bar” the story went on to explain how all the men where given tickets for disorderly conduct and released. That’s it she screamed at her father these men trash the bar, scare the hell out of me, They should all be in jail and all they get is Tickets!!! Calm down sweetheart her father said as he hugged her, The way your acting one would think it had been a bunch of rowdy Bikers in the bar yesterday! Those Guys would have been locked away, But it was only Sports fans!

Hebrew Courses - It’s Easier Than You Think

without comments

If like me, you have been attracted to Hebrew, the original language of the Bible, but you thought it’s too difficult: the letters are strange, the language is strange, the language is read Right to Left instead of Left to Right, then I have good news for you. I have found a series of easy-to-use Software Hebrew Tutorials. The first program is called “At Home With Hebrew”; the second program is “Hebrew Kindergarten”; and the third program is called “Shirei Ha-Shabbat.”

“At Home With Hebrew” is a cool Hebrew Tutorial. Many Hebrew course programs will give you a word and expect you to pronounce it - almost from the beginning, but, “At Home With Hebrew” is different. First, the creator/developer of the program, Neal Walters, is a professional teacher/trainer and student himself. He knows what it is like to learn a new language; so, he developed this program with regular people like you and me in mind.

You start by learning the Hebrew Alef-Bet (or Alphabet) - click on the character and hear the Hebrew letter pronounced. From there, you’ll learn the vowel sounds which are very similar to the vowel sounds of Spanish or Italian. After that, you’ll be learning words and simple phrases. Andwhat’s cool about the program is you can mouse-over (or point-and-click) on the word and hear it pronounced and see an English transliteration of the word so you can phonetically pronounce it.

The next course in the series is “Hebrew Kindergarten.” Don’t be fooled! This is your next step to learn Hebrew. It picks up where “At Home With Hebrew” leaves off; only, the program introduces you to more advanced grammar concepts.

It’s just like Neal to build continuity into his software packages. With “Hebrew Kindergarten,” you get the same mouse-over (or point-and-click) feature: you hear the word pronounced and you see a transliteration of the word. Butthis program has more to make sure you learn Hebrew: there are quizzes, games, simple video animations, and audio instructional material - you hear Neal having a conversation with an Israeli speaker discussing grammar and pronunciation. This Hebrew course comes complete with a 200 page instructional manual - Simply amazing!

The last program in the series is actually the latest creation from Neal Walters and his crew. It’s called “Shirei Ha-Shabbat: Songs of The Shabbat.” This Hebrew tutorial introduces you to the beautiful sounds of traditional Shabbat-Jewish liturgy.

I can’t help but say it - it’s another cool way to learn Hebrew. You learn two different styles of Canting Hebrew liturgy: Ashkenazi and Sephardi. The program incorporates a feature which allows you to hear two young cantors - one Ashkenazi and the other Sephardi - sing, or cant, some of the songs from the Shabbat Liturgical services. Plus, the program includes all the features previously mentioned above so you learn Hebrew as well: mouse-over (or point-and-click), games, and quizzes.

All in all, I was very impressed by these programs. You learn Hebrew and at the same time you are having fun learning - Now, isn’t that a switch? How many other Hebrew courses on the market can say that?

Overview Of The NMRA - National Model Railroad Association

without comments

Model railroading and prototyping is a wonderful hobby that doesn’t really require that anyone share in it with you ” but the enjoyment of seeing others reactions to your special diorama or the ability to pose questions on specifications and historical references to a group of friends for many causes them to seek out other like-minded enthusiasts.

Fortunately there are many clubs and organizations that have sprung up around model railroading, hundreds in the USA alone ” but one of the largest and most prestigious is the NMRA, the National Model Railroad Association, a non-profit educational association designed to promote model railroading, and to influence standards within the industry.

The NMRA has members across the world with over 150 divisions or groups of members spread out in 18 regions. Their yearly convention and the National Train Show continue to build excitement for model train enthusiasts to enjoy. The NMRA has been there for its members for over 70 years and will continue for many more.

The NMRA has set many standards that still exist today. Having been founded in 1935, they still maintain a list of Standards and Recommended Practices available to manufacturers and hobbyists. The Kalmbach Memorial Library, one of the larger railroad reference centers in the world is partially maintained by the NMRA. The Kalmbach Library has more than 5,000 books as well as over 100,000 prototype photos and over 50,000 modeling, prototype and historical magazines, a great resource center for anyone into prototype railroading.

Available resources for members by the NMRA include:

- Access to the Kalmbach Memorial Library, perhaps the best resource available on railroads and model railroads

-Association with other modelers and a monthly magazine

- Access to Regional and National conventions

Choosing Realistic Model Railroad Scenery

without comments

Landscaping and picking out the scenery can be one of the more fun things that you can do with your model railroads. You are the person who gets to decide just how you want it to look.

You can make it look as realistic or imaginary as you choose. Creating your display just takes an idea, supplies and a little time.

First and foremost you need a plan or at least a concept.

- Do you want to duplicate an existing landscape?

- Do you want a faithful historical recreation of a place now lost in time?

- Are you more likely to create a one of a kind scene to delight your viewers?

Making a choice on one theme for your layout and staying true to that theme is perhaps the most important keys to success. If you change your methods and style in the middle of your landscape the result will be inconsistencies that will detract from the overall impression you are trying to form.

Ideally those you invite to view your work will see a delightful scene and the harder they look the more detail enforcing that scene they will find. Nothing is more enjoyable then hearing those delighted squeals as a viewer notices ever more subtle details as they come closer and closer and the key to that is consistency.

Once you have a plan for the theme you need to decide on track placement and terrain. Many modelers create the terrain and then try to force the track to follow through that, just as occurs in real life ” but one of the advantages of modeling vs. real life is that you can consider all aspects and requirements up front. If you know you will have a bend or a switch at certain points why design rough terrain that you will then try to overcome with ‘grading’ in your models at those points?

Next you should collect your materials ” some items you can find around the house, others you may wish to purchase from dealers such as www.oakridgehobbies.com and www.jttmicroscale.com or your local hobby shop but always stay true to your plan. Just because you find an amazing little miniature you long to use doesn’t mean it belongs in this model! Common materials you will need include:

1. Tables or Stands 2. Plywood (preferably outdoor grade) for base if using stands 3. Glues 4. Twigs, ‘dirt’ gravel, crushed or powdered stones, herbs etc. for plants and groundcover 5. Paints of various kinds for touch-up, covering the base and backgrounds etc. 6. Poster board, wax paper, aluminum foil, tissues etc. for texturing and shaping 7. Styrofoam blocks and sheets for shaping

Some other items you may include:

- Fiberglass or plaster - Powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper for adding texture and color - Cork paper or board - Roofing tar for roads - Caulk and adhesives for holding items secure

Be Smart and Safe on the Water

without comments

Humans are land mammals, but we sure love our time in the water. People will go to great lengths to travel to cool northern lakes in the summer, and hot southern beaches in winter. A vacation just isn’t the same without spending time in the water.

Boating provides fun and exhilarating sport, and it can be a relaxing hobby. Whether you’re speeding along with the surf slapping wildly at the helm, or floating lazily on an inflatable raft, the water provides a beautiful and fascinating place to set yourself free. Water can be fun, and relaxing, but it also commands your utmost respect. Water sports can be extremely dangerous, and practicing boat safety is paramount.

Floatation Devices

Every wise boater prepares for the unexpected. A quick turn to the weather can bring on choppy conditions, high waves and hard rains. Even the most experienced boaters can find the adventures cut short when the weather causes capsize or collision. No one is invincible, particularly where nature is concerned. Everyone who is present on a boat, including the strongest swimmers, must wear a floatation device. Small and young children are at the biggest risk of drowning or injury. Wearing a floatation device isn’t only smart, but it’s the law in many places. Some states and provinces have regulations in place that require everyone on board to wear a floatation device.

Learn About Safety

Whether you’re a nautical novice or an experience boater, it’s a good idea to take a boating safety course. Free courses are available in many areas, and lessons can be completed in just a day or two. Sign yourself up, and your entire family. No child is too young to appreciate the dangers of the water, and learn how to stay safe. Check online if you have trouble finding a boating course. The Internet can be the best way to find information on available programs.

Boats and Booze Don’t Mix

You need a clear head and swift reflexes to operate any type of water craft. The use of alcohol or drugs impairs your judgment and slows your ability to react. Prescription drugs can also take a dangerous toll on your ability to boat safely. Drinking and boating is illegal in most areas, and the same laws that apply to DUI drivers on the road will be imposed on DUI boaters. You can lose your craft or even your life, so don’t take your chances.

Be a Good Judge

Boat safety is based on sensibility. Know your limits, and make sure you’re able to make smart, split-second decisions. Know what to do if another boat suddenly veers toward you, or if your buddy bails off of his water skis and slips from your line of sight. When you’re on the water, you may be called upon to make sound judgment calls. Understand your options in any given situation, and know how to take the best ones.

Be Respectful

Respect on the water is just as important as respect on the highway. Be aware of other boaters and respect their rights to share the water. Other boaters need to be able to see you in the blinding sun of daytime and the deep dark night. Keep within the water speed limit. Follow the rules of the waterway. Respect your passengers and your own safety, as well. No one is impressed when you show off and take risks.

Maintain Your Boat

Boat safety begins with the boat, so make sure that yours is in proper working condition. Check your craft often, and make sure that all components are in working order and meet boat safety requirements. Keeping a maintenance record of your boat is just as important as keeping one for your car. Take your boat and motor for regular maintenance, and learn how to perform emergency maintenance in the event of an accident or breakdown on the water.

Boating can mean anything from a fun kayaking trip, to an exhilarating afternoon of extreme water skiing, to a relaxing afternoon of fishing. However you choose to spend your time on the water, just remember to make boat safety your first priority.

Experience The Pleasure Of A Vegas Golf Vacation

without comments

by Charles Davis

If youare not particularly a golf enthusiast, the thought of going on a golfing vacation may sound a little strange. These days, however, there are many beautiful resorts to visit that also happen to have golf courses. If you visit one of these, you can enjoy a fabulous vacation in a resort setting that is also becoming known as a perfect destination for world class golfing.

One particular destination that is growing in popularity with is Las Vegas. With its stellar attractions, luxurious hotels, and endless entertainment, Las Vegas is the perfect spot. Non-golfers can enjoy themselves with any number of activities while the golfers among them hit the links for a few holes.

Las Vegas is known for their hospitality, and the accommodations are top flight. Most hotels and resorts offer such amenities as spa treatments, swimming pools, and workout facilities. These Vegas resorts are great for relaxing, meeting new people, and thoroughly enjoying your vacation.

Letas not forget about the casinos either. Golfing resorts in the Vegas area, especially those on the Strip, offer full casinos, as well as fabulous restaurants and fantastic shows. Even the non-golfers in your group will find much to keep them entertained, whether itas a quick game of blackjack or a few rounds of slots

Plus, not all Las Vegas golf vacations take you to casino resorts where there are lots of people, noise, and other distractions that could put some people on edge. Vegas has a wide variety of courses and associated resorts and clubs that you can stay at well off of the strip that provide the amenities of the Vegas resorts with the peace of the desert and the surrounding canyons. The change of pace provides some people with the kind of break from the normal hustle and bustle.

The highlight of these Las Vegas golf vacations, however, is the world class level of courses that are available to play in and around the city. Many of the courses are designed by world class builders, and provide a challenge to both the amateur player as well as the professional. Many courses at resorts are exclusive to their guests only, meaning that you can tee off without the stress of having tons of groups squeezed in behind and ahead of you.

The courses vary in size as well as in the landscape, meaning many of the courses around Vegas that you can play on your golf vacations are unique experiences. Courses are interwoven with the natural surroundings, from the canyons to the desert, to add a unique challenge to these treks. Unlike other destinations located in more benign settings, Vegas courses give you a chance to play a unique course while having a great time off the course when the round is over.

So the next time you have a week off, or even if you can only visit for the weekend, think about a trip to one of the fabulous golfing resorts in and around Las Vegas. You will thoroughly enjoy the fabulous sights and sound of this amazing city, and the world class golf courses canat be beaten. See you there!

Need Poker Advice?

without comments

by Simon Carlsson

For aspiring poker players, the age of twenty-one is the huge age of reckoning. It marks the occasion when you are finally able to go into a casino and gamble. The bright lights and spinning slot machines beckon, just waiting for your money. But be careful. Just because you indulged in a card game over at someone’s home does not mean that you are ready for the big time. It takes time and practice to be able to sit in at a game of poker with the big guns.

There is no doubt that the first trip into a casino, and we are not discussing casinos online but instead the ones found in Las Vegas, Tunica or Atlantic City, is absolutely exhilarating.

Sure the slot machines do pay out occasionally but if you are after the real money, then you need to hit the poker tables.

The best advice for learning how to sit in with the big guns is to know how much money you are willing to lose.

The bright, flashy slot machines nab the attention and you just cannot help but wander over and stick in a dollar bill, with the hope of winning the big jackpot. But there in the center of the casino floor is where the big money is made. It is where the card games, such as Texas Hold em or Roulette are played. Even the Black Jack tables draw the eye in as hundreds of dollars exchange hands in a matter of minutes.

The real money comes from the card game known as poker. It comes in many forms but it is the real deal when it comes time to gamble. Millions of dollars can be at stake on one single hand of cards. The card game is one of skill and talent where it is you against the dealer and the other players. Anyone can sit down at a slot machine and plunk in some tokens but it takes real skill to sit in a on a poker game.

Far too many novices enter the gambling arena hoping to be the next huge prodigy and quickly realize that playing poker in the den of a friend’s house is no comparison to sitting in with professional players who will not take it easy on you just because you have never been to a casino before. Take the time to learn the game and who knows, maybe you will wind up being the next huge phenomenon?

Adams A2 golf club review prior to buying

without comments

by Admasgolfmh

Stupid stupid stupid that bargain from the little known label was all but going to play the game for me. adams golf a2 distinctly shows how an ingenious approach to product functional thinking improves player consistency. Innovation performance adaptability ingenuity and continual product assesment and refinement are always at the forefront of my considerations when choosing my equipment supplier.

adams golf a2 necessitated a hard nosed approach to maintaining optimal quality during manufacture thereby preserving their reputation. Strict tolerances are placed on each and every product throughout the manufacturing process to ensure brand dominance remains. The incidenc of duds or lemons after this process is extremely unlikely.

From component manufacturing for supply to other manufacturers to forging their own brand and reputation is a considerable achievement. Taylormade Golf operates in a single segment within the golf industry (golf clubs and accessories) and offers more than one category of product within each segment. Extreme temperature forgings and close coordination with specialist shaft manufacturers all add to the refinement of Taylormade golf products manufacture.

Since the release there has been a significant uptake for adams golf a2. I might just have to keep this one to myself at least until I take my buddies money next saturday. A hell of a lot of thought has gone into producing these gems and they perform sensationally.

Poker Freerolls Advantages And Disadvantages

without comments

by Johnson

When players first come online to play online poker, they are met with a myriad of choices in what type of games to play. Poker Freerolls are an excellent way for both new and experienced players to win some cash and increase their Poker profits whilst risking any of their banks. But the choices don’t stop there. There’s also the choice of if they would like to play a tournament game, or in a team game. There is no entrance fee as in real life tournaments and there are money prices offered usually by the organizer or by the sponsors of that particular game.

One of the types of tournaments that are sure to catch the eye of the novice player is the freeroll tournament. Take a good look at your position. It helps to know when you are in the first positions and when you are among the last ones. This appeal comes from the fact that freeroll tournaments do not require the participants to put up any upfront fees to join in on the fun. This is because Texas Holdem is currently the most popular form of Poker across the world and is more likely to attract more players. This in itself is not a bad thing, unless the player gets stuck in a rut of playing nothing but Freerolls.

Thousands of players flock to play the poker Freerolls offered by online poker sites and casinos day after day. Some Freerolls are available for anyone to join as long as you are registered to that casino; these tournaments offer players the chance to make money without losing their bankroll.

Some are only available to enter if you have earned incentives from that casino by playing other cash games Play during poker Freerolls can get pretty hectic, as players tend to play a no holds barred playing style, since they think they aren’t risking their own cash. Freeroll Poker Tournaments are becoming one of the growing ways to increase your bankroll and a lot of the smarter players see them as a great way of playing their game. Poker Freerolls are the place to go to get tournament experience, but players shouldn’t lock themselves into playing only this one type of game.

Freeroll players are not limited to the newbie player. There are many temptations if you get bored and nothing to restrain you from them. If you choose to participate in a freeroll, you may be sitting at the table with anyone from the complete newbie to a poker veteran. Given the fact that people play Freerolls in a strange way, and there isn’t such a big commitment because nobody is losing money. You can tell the novice players from the veteran players by the fact that the novice players are taken out rather quickly.
